I am looking closely at an early 1980’s fin keel Moody 36S (aft cockpit version of the 36 Mk1 CC) and she seems like a very sturdy boat. I am confident that she would be a comfortable cruising boat but I’m concerned on the performance side as I don’t want to be motoring everywhere.

Does anyone have experience on these boats or on the 36CC which has the same hull and rig?

Any other feedback you might have is very much appreciated!

We had a 36S for 14 years. We were never disappointed with the performance and always felt safe and secure. I'm away for a few days but pm for more info when i'm back. Very few around so may know the boat.

+1 but for the centre cockpit version. Very solidly built and comfortable.

Only comment would be for the original Thorneycroft T90 engine which we found underpowered - OK in calm water but not brilliant at punching through headwinds/waves.
