Can anybody advise if the cutlass bearing on a Moody 34 (1985) is offset to starboard by an inch or two when viewed from the stern?

We have a Moody 34 which is, and if it shouldn't a new one will bring tears to my eyes.

Thank you.

If you mean the P Bracket containing the bearing, then its normal to have some offset to allow the prop shaft to clear the rudder when withdrawing it.

Try asking on the Moody Owners website

make sure the prop/shaft are secured inside the boat. I know someone who nearly lost his from a sadler 32 when it parted from the gearbox
