Determined this year not to spend any money on toys for my dream.
How come then I have spent many thousands already this year, Sail valeting, wear and tear on Canopy and Sail cover, Anodes, Antifoul, Yard and Crane Fees, Insurance etc and its only Jan.

The last time I totted up how much the boat actually cost to run, I sold it.

Strangely, I bought another one. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Sounds like its time to trade down.

I think the tenner a week I have to pay to keep the boat at the local plant nursey is exorbitant. I used to pay the farmer £2 until he sold the land for development. All other costs for a small yacht are much smaller in proportion. Anodes, Antifoul, Yard and Crane Fees - what are those?

However, I do worry about the cost of petrol for towing down to the Med for a few weeks this year. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I think so too. I paid about half that for mooring on the Thames. Try a farmer, or a small sailing club.
