I reported a problem with the pump out, I reckon it's barely working at 25% pressure, took 2 cards to empty the tank, a job that usually takes 2 minutes. So if you're looking for a last chance pump out before the lock closes for months, best go to Shepperton marina.

Email to berth holders yesterday said Shepperton marina pump out was also u/s best to call before turning up!

A week after I reported it to the Lock Keeper (not Steve, it was his day off), an essential piece of kit is still barely operational.

Where's Barry with his plunger?

That's what happens when you ignore the advice and offer from the manufacturers and go to a general contractor who - it appears knows diddly squat.
After all a pump out is a luxury kindly offered by EA and nothing you should be entitled to.....

They make the rules. No dumping tanks in the Thames, so they need to provide us with a method of disposal. The longer I'm on the Thames the more I get the impression that anything more than the ability to float is considered a luxury by the EA.

I don't think the EA even suggest you'll be able to float your boat - the licence covers keeping the boat on the river and as far as I'm aware, makes no note of actually being able to go anywhere.

On the other hand, the EA do have a responsibility to maintain the public right of navigation that exists on the Thames...
