Mole grips recommendations?

I found mine lying in the road about 40 yrs ago. They are authentic Mole ones and are useful from time to time but as someone said earlier, there are usually better alternatives. Stillsons are better for gripping round objects as the more turning force the stronger the grip unlike Moles. Stillsons can make a mess of what they're used on though.

You must have been on the Beaconsfield to Hotspur road then as I found my Molegrips on the road in 1974!!!!!

I have a set of Mole grips that I would not be without, I find them extremely useful. Once clamped tight, they are solid and reliable, and at no time have they ever slipped on even the largest or most agile mole. Providing you get a good grip around the head or below the shoulders, you should not have any problem, but avoid if possible gripping solely by a leg, as they can break off.

Mine fell off the back of a lorry I was following from Ripon to Harrogate 1975 along with a very large very nice Bhaco adjustable spanner. Not boat tools though.
