I bought one of these gangways from SVB when I went to collect my boat in Croatia 2 years ago

i don't use it much as I'm alongside in the marina. However, I expect to have more call for it this summer and I'm looking for suggestions on how to modify it. It works fine when deployed on the quay wall or pontoon but if I want to tie it up off the quay when I'm sampling the local red wine it's a bloody pain. I can tie it back to a pulley on the flybridge but the bloody thing swings everywhere because of the swivel mount on the swim platform.
