Mobo'ers II - North West Wales August meets.

Unless another catastrophe occurs I will be there. Will be bringing two other couples with on board. Plan is to leave Saturday morning for Porth Wen. Overnight there and then sail round Holyhead to Porth Dinllaen leaving early Sunday Morning for a early afternoon arrival. Monday departure through Menai and back. If there is a strong North wind will skip Porth Wen in favour of Pilots cove. Will need to check with Dan and John who I believe expressed an interest in coming. Kwaks will come pending the outcome of Admirals treatment. TSB240 is a dark horse as always.

Look at those blue skies!! :encouragement: Just 40 mile as the crow flies and it's been chucking it down, windy and grey.

The replacement gearbox arrived this morning. Touch wood there is no more catastrophes. Engineers will fit Monday, in the water Thursday. So I'm in for the long weekend. Hurrah! :encouragement: What a huge relief this is, and why did it stress me out so much?

have you booked lift in as its busy ,ithought we where going for 2 nights

I am out for two nights. One night (Sat) in Porth Wen or Pilots Cove and one (Sun)in Porth Dinllaen, arriving Sunday noon. If you or other boats are heading out to Ty Coch on Saturday for 2 nights then by all means I'm open to a couple there instead of a pit stop Saturday night.:encouragement:

Edit. Yes I lift in on Thursday

well she looks good bruce , so lets start planning the meet at ty cock what day are we meeting ,are we booking a meal at pub are we having a barbie ,who is coming its time to speak up ,

I'll be boarding Friday evening for a pre 10am Sat departure. Winds at present seem to be mainly from the South with the calmest days being Sat and Monday. Looks like I may just go straight there and avoid the rough on a Sunday morning around Anglesey via Holyhead. Probably with a brief stop for a look see at Pilots Cove for lunch on Saturday. As for the BBQ and Pub. Yes to all. Sat evening Pub meal, Sunday afternoon beach BBQ? followed by funbox bashing?

Don't think Porth Dinllaen is very likely for us as we would have to bash our way there Saturday morning.(bloody hard work against a forecast strong Southerly wind and probably a big swell after this weeks weather)

ALSO PROBLEM Is the wind is looking like going North later in which case forget it!... You just don't do Porth Dinllaen In any Northerly unless you are a Masochist

I suspect I will be making my way to Aber Menai during Saturday might take the flood tide through the Swellies up to Beaumaris then back with the ebb later to Caernarfon. I can decide later in the evening if Pilots cove for Saturday night or go there the next morning.

Weather currently looks good for Sunday night at Pilots cove then we get blown back home Monday morning.....

But it could all change between now and Saturday!

We will probably be out of PD dock on Friday night but pick up a mooring outside so we don't have to wait for tides....

If you guys want why don't you blast through to Ty Coch on Saturday PM?

If wind looks like setting from the North I would advise to come back to Pilots Cove for the night. Expect all anchorages to be very busy this weekend.

We listen on 16 and 69 usually..... If I see you will give you a call.

Will be able to make a decision Friday AM and let you know what I think we are doing.

Steve

Every weather update the forecast seems to change. Difficult making plans on passage and anchoring. However, Amanzi will be out this weekend unless it becomes foolhardy to do so. I have two couples that will be boat guests that will be coming up from Cardiff so am toying with the idea of at least booking Sat and Sun nights into Vicky Dock so we have a safe haven if needs be, but Monday at the moment looks decidedly iffy. Keep us up to date of your plans TSB, you'll almost certainly see us on Saturday in the Menai.

Yes please. Tried today but Mark is on leave and Garry reckons its empty and to try Mark when he's back on Friday. For gawd sake remind them I am not a raggie and if Mark wants me to enter astern again I'll lose my vhf licence
