Well the props are repaired, but it turns out they are the wrong ones to begin with at C3. So I've ordered in some C4's now too. This is getting rediculously expensive :(

Kwakers! Your mate put the voodoo on me. Lower gearcase gearset stripped. Just one gear but can only buy the set for 2k then fitting. I can buy a whole recon leg on ebay for that. Bloody hell. A £500 lift has now spilled over to a tad under 5k. I'm having a massive pout at the moment.

No idea Dan. Clipping the sandbank is the only strike I can recall. If I hit anything at high speed Im not sure Id have noticed.

SO TSB can u dry dry out

No!

A link for Moelfre Lifeboat Day. http://www.moelfre.org/moelfre_lifeboat_day.htm

and a map just in case you need it!

http://www.moelfre.org/map.htm

I would probably anchor somewhere close in between points 1 and 21 . Probably nearer 21 then dinghy in to join in to have a pint or 2 and sample the music.

I will probably move to either to 12 Traeth y Ora or 22 Traeth Bychan for the evening/night as either will be less crowded and better as you don't get the tidal swell that develops at Moelfre. Both have good beaches for a Barbie.

Bruce
There is a single track road access close to Traeth Y Ora but you cant get all the way down to easily launch a dinghy there!
You can launch at Lligwy, Moelfre or Traeth Bychan easiest.
If you are still thinking of camping there is a site between Traeth Bychan and Moelfre accessed from Moelfre by road.

Alternatively there used to be a private/nudist site at Traeth Y Ora! where you can let it all hang out cobber! :encouragement:

I am meeting up with other raggies from Caernarfon tonight and will try to let you know of any changes to plan.

Steve (the non bearded one)

Guys, Can you let me know what the decision is? If it changes to Moelfre LB I can come but it will most likely be with the family and without the dingy for the afternoon. Last night I discovered that it's not just the props that are damaged but I have to effectively replace / recondition the lower port leg gearbox as well, it's cheaper than the gearset(!!!). I need to take that off this weekend so I can get it shipped to Coastal Rides for refurbishment or I will not have time to make it to the meet on the 30th either. They say if I can get the lower unit to them by Tuesday they will return it to me Friday for next weekend so I can put it back on before dropping Amanzi back in the water. So much depends on being able to get this bloody leg off the boat, palleted, and courriered before I can take some time out. Sunday I need to start putting AF on her or again I will run out of time now that the workload has just increased. Absolutely gutted, because the props have just this moment (while I type) arrived and I could've had Amanzi in the water for this weekend had it not been for every corner presenting another catastrophe, but I'm not going to miss the second meet too. Bloody boat, every time you scratch a little deeper something else has broken. I'm seriously wondering how the hell all this damage happenned. I only hit the sandbank for the briefest moment at less than 3knts and about 1.2k revs. Getting rather stressed about having Amanzi in the water by the 27th. Sods Law :(

hi all just back from our trip ,we anchored in treath bychan ,our first time on anchor ,saw some raggies on the way over it could have been tsb etc ,did u anchor in molfry steve ,any way we dingied ashore and walked to molfy enjoyed a great day out ,came back to the boat loaded the dingie with barbie and food and ,wine n radio .then me and swimbo ate and drank till dark ,went back to seas the day where we danced under stars on the aft deck untill the early hours also trying to empty the fun box which we failed. ps where the feck were u all.roy

Sounds like you had a great time Roy :) . Despite me leaving texts, message on the forum and with John about details meeting you on which? beach at Moelfre Saturday you got back to me at 9pm ? You invite me for lunch today and when I'm halfway there you text me you're on the way back in. I think the gods conspired against me. Ended up at Penmon in the end and saw the seawake ribs dashing around. Waved at a pirate in case it was Kwaks but didn't get the bird so must've been a colleague. Dan was also on the way out to you, you must've crossed paths on your way back in. Anyway, without tempting fate I should be back in the water for the 27th. Hold thumbs for me its been a miserable month on the hard.

Sorry guys ended up phoneless this weekend.
I gave a shout on 16 on the way over cos some ruddy great stink pot sent me wobbling and spilt my beer. Think it was Seas the day but the smoke cloud was acting a bit like a cloaking device.......We ended up arriving a bit after the Lifeboat launched but enjoyed the white water wake surfing mid anchoring up!. We looked out for you all at the Kimmel until about 8.30 pm. Invited to go on board another raggie for a curry and wine. I Couldn't turn a free meal down and we ended up with a party of ten dancing in the cockpit to the live band. There will be a next time!

SOON!

Steve

Well we need to grt sorted for ty cock i am site at it we will welcome bruce back and see if we can all get together for qwackers

Well there's nothing more I can do but wait and hope the dealers, vendors and engineers who promised to deliver at set times, do deliver. It's a well oiled project plan but the dependancies are numerous. Of course there is no accounting for weather but if wielding the wallet like a drunk at a stripper club pans out, then it'll take more than the placating tones of Michael Fish to keep me in the estuary.

i am now taking requests for the fun box selection raggies will be given half measures as they will have to set off back before they get there ,but it will good to meet up with them,ps are all raggies called steve

Good man :encouragement: A couple bottles of a nice Saffer Pinotage Shiraz blend. A couple of Argie Malbecs and some brown ale for the morning to wash it all down. I think the raggies drink Babycham

Gearbox is repaired and ships tomorrow for Friday delivery. Fits the gaskets, 6 bolts, 5.4 litre oil and 4 props and Amanzi will be ready for the water. It's been a diabolical few weeks but there is light at the end of the tunnel. :encouragement:

Now, about the 30th. Are the dancing girls coming? :p
