Mobo'ers II - North West Wales August meets.

Dont joke. Friday night albeit too late to go out, we stayed on the boat thinking we may do a dawn dart to catch up. The estuary was atrocious come 2am and stayed that way weel after the tide had turned. Never seen swells come in like that before and one of our neighbours on a small yacht was up all night feeling decidedly unwell. If it was that bad in the harbour, it could not have been fun out at sea. I suspect TSB240 spent a rather miserable night alone and cursed every last one of us. What the hell has happened to summer? It's been a miserable weekend aboard.:(

cant see you have you sank

Had a great walk around Llanddwyn Island before all the land crabs arrived on Saturday morning.
Topped up the sun tan and tried catching fish (Failed),
Wind went to the South so got a bit lumpy bumpy on the pick.
Sailed back up to Port Dinorwic with our big red white and blue rag up to find the best spots taken at Rowan Bay.
Listened to the radio and local mayday, and watched the Lifeboat tow the unfortunate broken down Binliner back into the dock.
Had an invite to drinks on Nautibelle which in the absence of Seas the day could not possibly be turned down.:encouragement:
I ducked back into the dock just before the heavens opened up for the next 24 hours!

Oh Raggie power all weekend was a bonus! I topped the tank up we must have used all of half a litre this weekend!

Steve

I love it when the tides work out just right so I can leave work at 3pm and get out to Pilots cove by 6.30pm including a journey of an hour and a quarter on the A55!

How the hell did you manage that Steve?! Vix (Admiral) left Liverpool at 2pm and only got back home in Conwy at 4:30. Traffic only cleared for her by St Asaphs. ??

Lights on full beam and wearing a hi viz overcoat with collars well up! Nah that wouldn't have been fair would it!:o

I'll get her to tailgate you next time. I'm (Amanzi) being lifted next thursday for a bottom clean and fresh antifoul. Maybe get a few knots back for August. She was rather sluggish this weekend last struggling to make cruise revs. A few weeks of being on the pontoon has allowed her to foul at a phenomenal rate. Was quite shocked when I popped an endoscope under her. Last antifouling in March, not impressed.

Just to wind you up even more! We have not antifouled since we bought the boat nearly two years ago. When she came out in April a quick blast with the pressure washer took off a small amount of slime and revigorated the AF. Benefit of freshwater fed dock! Anything that grows at sea dies in dock and vice versa.

Gee. Thanks for that. Just what I wanted to hear as I shell out another 480 notes in lifts and a couple more in AF and labour.

Can't make this Tuesday. Will be on the hard with a tin of antifoul. Free beer if you're bored and good with a roller.

'Update' Chaps
swmbo's radiation treatment is due to finish on the 22nd of August, so how She shapes after that will determine what I can do about the Porth Dinllaen Gig

Would it be rude to go without you Kwaks? I can run up your tab for you :encouragement:

Hope and prayers that all goes well with the missus' treatment. And you too :)

well arrived at the boat she was tipping to starboard a lot ,panic struck then bang i remembered we had stocked the fun box to the limit ,so lets start putting names to dates ,so bruce are the rggies coming cause if they are big wow will come

I'll chase them up. While we are at it where can I get two sets of 290 DP props from in a big hurry? I lifted Amanzi to give her a quick clean and inspection with a lick of Antifoul. Her bottom turned out to be clean.... the props weren't.

Three of the four props are badly damaged. Got no idea where it happenned other than I nicked the sand on the edge of the channel at 3knts. But these look like I hit something more like rock. Gutted. I'll take it to the forum see if I can two replacement sets before Friday

Apologies. After much faffing about trying to get repairs and ordering in temporary ali props I am not going to make the weekend 15/16. The props burnt out the hub on the port leg and were able to wobble enough to shear the anode bolts. The section of the leg now needs to be removed and sent to an engineering shop to have the bolt studs removed and helicoiled. It's a PITA, but everyone smiles and smugly says "Boating for ya"
Looks like Seastoke will be saved me pillaging his fun box, at least until the 30th.

Well me swimbo ,and gracie will be goin for bbq n deinks if anyone wants to go pm me also bruce are your raggies goin
