There we were, minding our own business, motorsailing to Beaulieu on a superb saturday - just not enough wind to sail - when .... a mobo comes flying past down our starboard side, along with a little wave ....

Bother that said I ... I'll call him up on the VHF!! .... he responded quickly and directed me to Chl 6 whereby he started off apologising and that he thought he'd given us plenty of room, hope it didn't upset us too much .... well - if he'd let me get a word in edgeways .... Mr Houston ... I only called you up to say hello!! I knew you wouldn't recognise me, but I recognise you!! phew - thats all ok then!!

Hope you enjoyed the rest of your weekend!!

(ps - please excuse the X post!!)

As I explained on the other forum when the same question was asked ..... the icecream had already melted ....

I've already apologised for the second, and explained the first ....

Although, I can add that the mainsail was doing nothing for the propulsion because we were motoring downwind at around wind speed and was only up just incase the wind did actually do something .... which it didn't ....
Eitherway, RR was overtaking vessel and kept clear as would be his duty whether we were sailing or motoring ....

For the benefit of those that don't know - a saily boat can be quite rolly when there is little/no wind and you're motoring, putting up a sail damps the rolling motion so makes the ride more comfortable even if it does nothing for the speed!
