Mobo rafting etiquette?

We were rafted off a couple of 40 foot (ish) motorboats in Yarmouth this weekend, we went ashore in the time honored fashion via the bows but it was a fair drop down/step up from the inside boat's side decks to the pontoon.

Would it have been OK to have crossed via the swimming platforms?

with the size of some motorboats now that would be the only safe route, but certainly a chat to your neighbour would be in order before just crossing via their bathing platform, can't think why anyone would say no... (IMO)

We generally prefer people who are rafting on us to go across the bathing platform. If It's possible it's so much easier for all concerned.

I can't see any problem with that, going via the platforms would be more logical, obviously be aware and considerate if the boat your crossing is an aft cabin type, especially at night, as there could be owners in their cabin right by where you are walking across.
