Does anyone know of a window and/or hatch servicing and replacement service that would come to a boatyard in Devon to do the window/hatches/ports on a yacht? It’s time to do the job on our boat. I could ‘have a go’ myself, but I’d rather get a pro to do the job than risk botching it myself.

Any recommendations?

I know it isnt the question but it really is very easy to replace your own hatch acrylic. Worth a thought. Cost effective as well at less than £40 a hatch if you are doing a few.

Thanks Coopec, for doing some research from Oz! Much appreciated.

I had looked them up before posting, but not sure if they’ll come to the boat to take out the existing ones. It’s Sunday so can’t check. Wondered if anyone had actually used someone they could recommend.

The side windows are the real priority, and the whole interscrew, gasket, sealant thing makes me nervous of cocking up and being left with a leaky end result!

Doubt they will come out but may recommend somebody to do it. It is just a (tedious) shipwright or DIY job to remove and replace. Probably will be expensive though as it is labour intensive. However once they are refurbished and you use the proper sealant refitting them is probably the easiest part of the job!

There is a Practicable Boat Owner YouTube video that strangely gets cut short midway through that suggests that it is quite simple.

The day will come when my boar needs doing and it does look quite simple given the correct stuff is used.
