Now don't laugh but until now I have not owned a mobile phone, mainly, after a lifetime of being on call on overseas postings, because of an aversion to people being able to reach me whatever time of day or night. But it occurs to me that being able to telephone SWMBO to pick me up from some remote creek might be a good idea. I am attracted to a cheap and cheerful Nokia from Vodaphone. Has anyone any advice about coverage of the various networks?

Thanks

Michael

Used to be with vodaphone with last company. Coverage in Norfolk (where we had one depot and I live) was lousy! Also not much cop off the Essex coast. Dont know if that has changed in the last couple of years since I left.

Now with O2 and find get coverage off the coast - which some may see as a disadvantage!

Been with various companies, now using Tesco network which rides on O2 I think. Coverage excellent, includes lonely creeks and offshore, but (hollow laugh) refuses to get a signal inside our local Tesco's.....

Dropped Vodaphone when Pay-as-you-Go even charged me for unopened sales messages!
O2 seems fine including good coverage.

Vodafone was always particularily bad in the Blackwater area so went over to O2 which works quite well. I have heard various complaints about the other systems but that was from the comfort of a pub.
