Can anyone help with recommending a mobile or London based engineer/mechanic to get a 1 year old Hidea outboard working.

It's the 2.5hp engine. After being left outside for the winter, it won't start. I've fiddled with it but have reached my limit of patience and knowledge.

All the authorised dealers are miles away and I just don't want to throw more time and energy at it.

I've learnt my lesson about buying cheap.....

(Anyone want to swap it for a honda outboard....?)

Did you call the vendor, if not for a warranty claim then at least for advice?

If fuel gets into the cylinder and a spark is generated from the plug, something is bound to happen. Checking these two things is first step, after obvious looking over all levers and controls as per the manual (full tank, safety stop lanyard in place, gear in neutral, open fuel cock & fuel cap vent, throttle and choke in 'start' position?)

If it has been flooded by fuel, remove the spark plug and wipe it thoroughly. Ideally replace it (for some reason plugs can die from flooding, although hard to understand).
