Mobile Data in France

We will be in Brittany for 7 weeks soon, and will need to use 3G or WAP data. This is very expensive via UK network providers (about £7+ per Mb). Has anyone found a better way?

I used Orange wifi at Calais Marina, worked well 10 euro 3 hours over 30 days. Plenty of other hotspot around the coast.
