Planning our first Yarmouth to Brixham in a few weeks. Does anyone have any experience of mobile phone coverage in Lyme Bay. We have an O2 and an Orange. (and yes I do have a VHF!!)

Speaking from bitter experience, the water in Yarmouth Harbour is very good for covering mobiles, so you should have no trouble in t'bay.
Mobiles don't like beer, either.

I think that you should be OK, I have used both for work whilst driving in the area without problem.

If you decide to go on to Fowey your O2 phone won't work but Orange works perfectly. This is quite a frequent situation in Cornwall.

I find O2 coverage to be quite good almost the whole way across the bay the only patchy area being about 6 miles west of Portland Bill.
