Mobile Boat Vice

Ours is just mounted on an old plank, which is surprisingly handy. Just fits under the forward berth on top of the water tank. For most jobs the weight of plank and vise is sufficient, other jobs I don't want to do on the boat and I can just put it on the pontoon, either the crew just standing on the plank or wedged/lashed on mooring cleats (which are not to be underestimated as work tools themselves!). Plank also fits across the cockpit seats in front of the binnacle, giving a nice all-around access for awkwardly shaped workpieces. The plank was just a temporary solution originally, but has worked so well it's just stayed that way.

The Zyliss is nice too, especially if you can find one with the drill mounting contraption (there's even a lathe contraption, or maybe I'm confusing that with the Swissrex?).
