MOB in the Menia

Two newbies on the boat today so a full safety briefing before heading out of Port Dinorwic and up towards the Swellies. Bit of fun doing MOB practice with them before heading to Puffin Island for a spot of fishing.

Uneventful return to PD with a quick warning to the friends about jumping off the boat and onto the pontoon. "You stand back and leave it to SWMBO and myself. Done this lots of times and often single handed and in the dark".

Made a complete horrlicks of reversing back on to the pontoon and had to resort to the bow thruster. Eventualy got her alongside, strode passed said guests, stepped onto pontoon, to take a line from SWMBO, stubbed toe on cleat and dived headfirst into the marina /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Good job my lifejacket inflated 'cause I couldn't get myself back onto the pontoon for laughing. Guests secured the boat while SWMBO hauled me out of the water. /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

Just glad Kwacker was not there to witness it !! Though I'm sure the HM will give him an update.

Thanks for this. It reminds us less experienced boaters that everybody makes a mistake now & then. Glad that the real hurt seems to have been more to your pride than your body /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif.

Debs - the worst is yet to come, one of the guests was a workmate from my last contract and I have to go back into the office tomorrow to return laptop, phones etc. I'm dreading the ribbing I'm going to get.

Lawsy - another good tip is to remove Iphone from pocket when demonstrating the efficiency of automatic lifejackets /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Phil /Liz - sorry you missed it, just hope the HM did not catch it on the security camera.
