MMSI number updates

I recently updated my VHF licence to DSC and amended the boats licence accordingly. I was told that the ITU maintained the MMSI database. I have checked my boat and a friends boat HERE and mine still shows the old owner of my boat. My friends boat doesn't even appear.

Any idea how often the database is updated?

Very infrequently.... mine took 6 months to be correctly displayed.... Although after enquiries, I was advised that the back office systems are better!

It depends when Ofcom supply the data to MARS/ITU.But don't hold your breath for at least 6 months.

It took nearly a year with mine, and the guy who sold me the boat, the same with his new boat.

I raised a query with ITU, got referred to Ofcom, and after an e-mail, surprise, surprise, all entries were updated within a week.
