MMSI Number change

Good evening or whatever it is where you are,

I have now got a UK ships radio license. Since I used to have a German one I now have a different MMSI number. How do I change this on my Navman 7100. Anyone know?

Actually I already had the software re-installed so to speak with the German channels since I bought the set in Portugal, the Portuguese importer did this free of charge for me - brilliant service, especially for Portugal /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif I guess I should now change to UK channels, has anyone had dealings with Navman UK?

I recently asked the same question to Navman support. They forwarded the mail to the Dutch importer. The answer was (as expected). "Sorry you cannot do this yourself, send us the set plus money (approx. 25 Euro) and we will take care of this. Not bad for 5 mins of work! I'm convinced you need some code to do it yourself. Because of some patronizing regulations you are not allowed to do it yourself. You might misuse the (GGDMS) system they say. Yeah right, this system is foolproof because of this regulation. Oh well yet another government rule to live with

Ther are some 4 letter call signs, Maybe they are reusing 'old' call signs.
