The Mayan Queen leaving Mahon. Quite a sight and quite a beautiful vessel.

that is beautiful, I've been out to see it and taken rather a lot of pics of it in the process, which I'm sure I've got filed away somewhere if only I could find them in a hurry. The mobo is still rather nice.

The Mayan Queen was moored alongside the crossberth in the harbour here in January this year - here are a couple of photos of her then :

It looks as if she might have one of those fold down balconies in the forward topsides like what is all the rage with the bigger Sunseekers now.
And that is an interesting stowage for the tender aft - not much freeboard there if they have to open up that door in a bit of a chop!

Ugly

Its very ugly - protrusions are out of proportion, bow line droops, funnel looks unfinished, aesthetic geometry of the various ovals and shapes are not proportional. There are far many more aesthetically pleasing power vessels than this, both modern and vintage.

I am thinking warty frog!

The usual stock responses here

It's very impressive alright, but there are better looking super/mega (motor)yachts IMHO

Well that was pretty much a waste of time and effort then:-)

Being a raggie, finding delight in a vessel of whatever persuasion is my perogative. The fact that vessels of this size are still being designed and built whether you like them or hate them is IMHO fantastic. Keeps loads of people employed and money circulating. Personally and with no jealousy involved I still find her beautiful and with all ladies they really should be seen 'in the flesh' so to speak! :-)

I enjoyed having a look at her (only from the quay) when she was here - she is not TOO radical, but still a refreshing change from the bog standard white Feadship type of large motor yacht.
I suppose it is a bit difficult to get too radical nowadays, as those elliptical windows (I think they were originally 'invented' by Sunseeker?) seem to form the basis of styling - although there were a few Jon Bannenburg designs from the 80's which I thought were very unorthodox and good looking, in comparison to the stereotypes available then - eg Parts IV and Octopussy.
