Mmm...oh dear...I wonder how it'll turn out?

What worries me is they get shedloads of public money to do these projects. If it was worth doing the idea would be self financing. Wonder if a naval architect is involved.

Did you ever see that monstrosity on Grand designs with the A frame in steel!

If it was this one....

...then yes, it was a couple of boatyards downriver of us and apparently the owner was a nightmare. The last I heard of it was being dragged off towards Southend.

lol........I can't help thinking that there is something wonderful about the diversity in our characters.I hope that we are never stopped from expressing them.Britain would certainly be all the poorer if it was'nt for stuff like this.

If I had to donate a piece of wood that had a bit of family history, it would be a fragment of rafter from the church in Islay that burned down and was rebuilt by my grandfather (the minister) in about 1913. (found amongst my slightly eccentric late mother's things)
I just can't imagine where it would fit... or where it is now.

Yep...still off Southend, remember seeing it through the binos a couple of months ago

that would be funny if he was using his own cash, what a T**t. There are millions of more worthy people / projects out there!!

An ego driven project with extremely limited value to anyone.
Far better to support existing sailing/boat building related charities or initiatives (apprenticeships?) which have an on going value and don't just create an on going liability.
Who will pay for berthing, maintenance, MCA coding, repair and maintenance etc in future years. building the thing is the cheap and easy part.
