I just bought a supply of Interdack grey paint. When I got to have a proper look at the dried product it is too grey. I'm going to mix some white paint into it. Question is... can I use normal leftover paint I have in the shed (cheap) or must I get some white Interdeck (expensive). Any ideas?? Thanks

I mixed grey & white Interdeck to get the colour I wanted. I even asked International and got a very quick response from the Technical Manager in Felling (so you could try that for a definitive answer). He suggested adding a bit of Brightside as an alternative to mixing the Interdeck.

I also know someone who took the Interdeck additive and mixed it with two part paint, but he knew what he was doing.

I would say bite the bullet and get some white Interdeck. After all the effort to get a good result it seems a shame to waste it for the last little bit.

By the way, I kept the left over paint but it went solid after about two years. Still what is on the deck still looks ok.

I too have mixed two colours of Interdeck - I wanted to tone down the pure white to avoid dazzle. I found that it took VERY little grey to create an acceptable result. With respect to diluting your existing Interdeck grey with some other paint I see from the brochure that both Interdeck and Brightside are polyurethane which suggests compatability but I have no experience of mixing different paint types. Any paint chemists out there?

I got some deck white deck and topside paint and took it to a dulux paint mixing centre. They just added some tint to make the colour I wanted. The whole lot seemed to mix well and was easy to paint on. How long it will last is another matter.
