I am removing a somewhat corroded old mixer tap from our heads. The head of the unit pulls out from the base, for showering, hair washing etc., the water connection being an integral flexible hose.

Having consulted my trusty Plastimo catalogue and looked at several online chandleries there appears to be relatively little choice of manufacturer. The Plastimo mixer/shower tap ref. 39468 looks reasonable.

The heads basin is quite small, so the tap would ideally be a bit more compact than the Plastimo 39468. Can anyone suggest alternative manufacturers and suppliers?

Thanks, in anticipation.

We also have limited space around the heads sink, I tried all the chandleries etc. and eventually managed to find the ideal unit at a caravan dealer.

The flexible hose simply jubilee clips onto hose tails under the fitting.

The manufacturer is reich and it was about £40.

I bought one of these to replace a Franke unit in our heads. The pull out hosey bit's liner had collapsed and Franke wanted £70!!!! for just the hose.

And very good it is too. So good, that I bought another one to hold as a spare for when the same unit in the galley goes tits up

Had to buy some hose tail adaptors but they were only a few quid

Ours too came from Penguin. The one we have has an on/off slide as well - this means that you can cease the flow without altering the temperature mix. Great for saving water whilst lathering up!

Thank You FRONTIER

I have just bought a 2008 power boat and am going through the enjoyment of "fixing" all the little things.

I thing I want to fix is the shower/sink fawcett.

I have looked everywhere and I cannot see anything like what I have. Then.... I see the post from SEVEN years ago from Frontier.

The website he mentions has the EXACT head I am looking for.

Now here is a crazy turn of events.
....... Tomorrow I will go to the boat to "do some fixing"
....... The boat is in HAYLING ISLAND onnly a couple of miles from the company!.

How crazy is that.

ANyway, that again FRONTIER.

Loops sorry. I see my error

Yes I was looking at the join date not the post date! Lol

I spoke to the company today and they explained how the head worked so I didn't even need to buy anything. Result.

Thanks all

The Whale model is quite neat, easy to instal and works well. I have had failures of two of the slightly flimsy spindles that connect the on/off knob to the valve in five years, but Whale were great in providing a bag of replacements at no charge. Only a few minutes' work to instal, but could probably be unnecessary if I cleaned up the valves so that they turn more freely.
