Is there any further development with regard that infernal fence? It seems very quiet on the "Free The Quay" front.
It strikes me that last year's Village Green ruling is a hollow victory as nothing has changed. I am not old enough to remember when it was possible to reach the pub at the top of the tide in Mistley - well that's not quite true - but I never managed to sail there before the fence went up.
I sailed up to Mistley 3 weeks ago but the barriers are still in place. At this rate there will be a national drinking ban before I get chance to sail to the Thorn.

I had a look at their website and it looks as if they are waiting for judgement on the appeal against the village green ruling. Let’s hope the appeal gets turned down.

VERY GOOD NEWS - thanks to the efforts of the free the quay group.
the ea article mentions that the fence may not be removed immediately ? "The decision will not result in the immediate removal of the fence along the edge of the quay. " any idea when the fence will come down?
