For those of you aware of the ongoing issue of the fence at Mistley Quay, please see the latest issue that has arisen. I was out sailing on Saturday and we came in past the RNLI inshore lifeboat trying to refloat a sunk day boat and at the quay was the police, coastguard and paramedics. I have only just found out what was happened.

I understand the developer was claiming that the fence was there for Health and Safety reasons to stop people falling in the water. If it can now be shown to be a hindrance to Health and Safety that must be a good thing. I personally believe the fence has been placed there to stop public access so that later they can build more of those atrocious flats ont he waterfront and really spoil Mistley for ever.
