I found this thingie in a closet and can neither remember where it comes from nor what it is.
Any hint appreciated.
Aside from comments on the incompatibility between arteriosclerosis and boating, that is!

Mmmm... naah, the red woven would get soaked in a minute, it's not water resistant at all.
Btw, looking at the pics now, I suspect that it should be assembled the other way round.
I mean, with the red woven above the wooden sticks, which in turn keep it tight (with the hole fitting the central wooden shaft). Not that I can think of any sensible use for it also this way... /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Temporary cover for plate of food or similar?

Now that's an idea. Dunno if that's what it was meant to be, but at least it's a sensible usage!
Better than swmbo suggestion, anyway: why dontcha use it as a hat when waterskiing in sunny days? /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif)

C'mon, spill the beans. I know you're aware of more about it than myself.
There is in fact a small tube fitted inside the central wooden shaft, which leads me to believe that you didn't invent the tensioner and handle/socket...
...which was not enough of a clue for my vanishing memory, though!
