A big thankyou for all the interest etc. I spent the day yesterday on a friends yact trawling Portsmouth harbour, both by boat and some inacessable creeks by car. All to no avail. Anyone who has seen the boat or the photos of her would agree that she is instantly recognisable. Reckon I did too good a job of the restoration!!! Cannot understand why she would go missing with no mast- just dosen't add up.
Keep your eyes peeled. Cheers

I feel very sorry for you and sincerely hope your pride and joy turns up, I certainly will be keeping a very close eye out on my travelly over the next couple of days. To those who are complaing about you putting on more than on thread (or whatever you call it) I really hope you never have your boat stolen, cos then you will know exactly what it feels like....and I know its not nice...so ajc, in my opinion the more exposure you can get the better...more chance of someone finiding it...I wish you all the best.....

Many thanks for your post. Yes I did start a new chain on purpose, it puts you back on top and if anyone out there has spent four years restoring a boat they will understand how I feel. I did not even get to put the sails up on Hilary Joyce, I also cut, machined and sanded every piece of timber. I run a joinery business and know just how many hours are required to build something like this. T

To loose your pride and joy is quite devastating to both my wife & I. Whilst she is insured the likeley pay out would not replace her & I am particularly saddened that I believe that only about 7 or 9 of these were ever built and for one to go missing upsets me deeply.

She sounds like a fantastic boat: I had a good look around portsmouth harbour today (delivered boat to that area...took a little longer due to fog..honest boss!) but to no avail, sorry. I have access to ribs and other craft so if I can be of assistance to you please do not hesitate to ask. I have no idea how to do personal messages on this thing but if I can help, I am sure you know how to do them! I am out over the next couple of days so will keep my eyes peeled.
Wishing you all the best...

Thats a terrific offer, many thanks. I feel that after our trawl at the weekend Portsmouth Harbour is clean. I am sure there must be places she could be concealed but probably beyond my reach. Also I live 100 miles away. I believe that she has probably been moved quite some way away, if some braindead lowlife has taken her then I think by now she would have been dumped and probably found. I heard the other day how someone who did not have the Ferry fare to France just took a powerboat and dumped it the other side!! What hope.

Thanks for looking for me, keep an eye open.
