Missing water

I have had a 4 foot tank with terrapins for years. I have never had to top the tank up due to low water level and I clean it out every coupla months. Been away in Spain for 10 days and over 1 gallon of water was needed to top up the tank to the level I left it at. It cant evaporate that much so who stole it - BTW the weather was fab and the boating better,

We have a tank about the same size that has 2 Mississippi map turtles in, and that needs the level topped up every few days. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif Might just be the way the tank is set up though...... either that or the little buggers are drinking it! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
