Nothing locally in Brighton, except that the boat has gone now (as mentioned above I think).

Police divers carried out a search in the marina two weeks ago but found nothing:

The latest line is that Sussex Police are still "making enquiries"

It may be the cynic in me but I couldn't help but think of a man in a kayak on the NE coast.

It's certainly one of those stories that pose more questions than answers.

When you say does not look good, do you mean, the boat is in poor state of repair, or, do you mean the situation doesn't look good? I'm assuming the answer is both, however the reason I ask is I'm interested in whether the boat is badly damaged.

Horrendous circumstances for the family, especially at the time of year. I hope something turns up at least to give them some form of closure.

I understand that when the boat was lifted out there was far more underwater damage than originally thought due to her pounding on rocks. I believe that quotes are being obtained by underwriters and a repair contract will be awarded shortly.

The boat is repairable.

It can't be for sale unless the owner agrees to sell it and currently I think he is a missing person ( just saying!)

Not sure of the legals, but it's a good few years before they cac assume he's dead.

There again not.

In the real world, it is unlikely that they are reading an internet forum at this time, yet a discreet approach to the boatyard expressing an interest could make life just a little less intolerable.

Assuming the boat can be sold.

Assuming he's dead.

I have to say I've been thinking this for a while about the thread.

Maybe I'm very naive and like to believe the gent in question hasn't done a Reggie Perrin for betterment (likewise I hope for his family he isn't dead), but until I hear differently my heart goes out to a family that is grieving the loss of a loved one.

A very sad story if it's all true.......
