Missing British sailor's body found aboard off Jamaica

What!?!? This post has been up for two hours now and there has been no speculation over his sailing ability, nature of his boat, appropriateness of his voyage, and not a single conspiracy theory over the cause of his death.
C'mon people.
;)
Well, as you ask...... It all seems a bit strange to me. How many 42 year olds suddenly die of natural causes? I hope we hear more on the outcome of the "enquiries".

Quite a few. I've know several in their 30s and 40s die in their sleep and in the squash court.

He might have been inexperienced when he left the UK, but crossing the Atlantic he became experienced. Similar for the boat, if it was OK for crossing the big pond, should be fine for the little one. Hurricanes/severe weather rarely leave bodies on intact boats either, we can cross forecasting error too. He crossed interesting waters though, quite close to Venezuela, I wonder if the autopsy can find the pirates bullet...

Not according to the RYA the Halmatic 30 is less than 7m at the waterline.

The "inexperienced" bit seems to come from a neighbour who didn't even know he sailed, so probably barely knew him at all.
For all we know he'd been sailing since he was born.

A neighbour dropped dead out of the blue at 44 last week. Yes it's unusual, but then so is this situation. Plenty of innocent exaplanations for the sails being down too.

Not sure we're ever going to get an answer.

And two or three of the fit and healthy youngsters at my former employer dropped dead unexpectedly from natural causes - probably in their late 20s or early 30s. That's in the UK, not counting casualties from working in Antarctica; there's an impressive collection of memorial plaques at Rothera Point. Thankfully casualties of field work have become rare as procedures and training have tightened up, but in the 80s there were usually one or two a year.

Sudden death at an early age, we seem to lose a fair few ex footballers this way. Cardiovascular disease is probably the favourite.

I mugged it up, 14% of deaths globally are in the age range 15 - 49, c 1.2 million annually, looks like c 10% being heart problems:
