Just got the kids a cheap mirror, it's in pretty good condition but unfortunately the trailer has caused a little damage to the underside.
It's a dint about the size of a 5p that does not fully pierce the hull but is enough to start the rot.
I am new to wooden boats so unsure of the repair method but was thinking that just filling the dink with epoxy glue would be ok, is this the best method?

if the dent is already wet, you need to dry it out. As well as epoxy putty, or adhesive with a bit of micro balloons, to fair up the external surface, I'd consider a doubler (a backing plate on the inside about 3 inches by 3) to strengthen any damaged area.

Nice little dinghies: have fun !

Hi, not got it wet so no issues with that, don't think strength is a worry either as it is a tiny dink, just concerned with moisture absorption through it.

I'd be inclined, then, to use the same paint that you use for the rest of the hull to ensure good cohesion. Some epoxies don't liek ordinary paint.
