I dont think that's correct. The reason Vosper are fixing the keelbox is, I believe, partly to maintain the warranty. I think joe has mentioned that as a factor in deciding whether to fix it in France or UK. Also, with a boat like that it's not really a big deal running it round from France to UK. The journey is only 8 days. It could easily be that Vosper are so far up the learning curve that they can do the repair 8 days faster than a French yard, and there will be preparatory and design work to be done, which can be done during the 8 days, both at Vospers and on board the boat (by the engineer team). I assume that maintaining the warranty is important - there will be some debt on the boat and it could be a banking covenant, for example. I dont know, this is mostly guesswork on my part. But I disagree your "no a good omen" analysis - remember, the keel didn't bust spontaneously, it only bust because the boat went aground. As long as that event isn't repeated (!) the need to take the keelbox back to VT for a repair shouldn't arise
Yes, well noted and I expect you are correct - there iare bound to be other 'warranty' items too, there always is on new boats/ships.
Do not forget however that it might be 'only 8 days' run to the Uk but commercially there are the eventual repositioning costs and the 'additional' delay to the owner to consider too.
