The mast is now up, as was anticipated on the Yachting Monthly web site earlier today. Mostly went to schedule, slight problem late in the day with the rig has delayed the removal of the cranes (tallest crane in Europe I am told). Still expect full release by this evening. Rigging will be only partially loaded overnight, to around 200 t. Mirabella will leave Empress Dock by Friday. Fist brave soul to scale the mast will have a wonderful view (looking down!) of QM2 in the next berth.

Thats a big old stick!! (can see it from where I am sitting) I think that it might be £70+ vat to step it, as they seem to be using 2 cranes...

Where is she going after friday?

We are watching someone who has just climbed up the mast and looks like an ant on a stick!
