Could anyone tell me what the minimum boat length is for accumulating miles to go towards the Coastal Skipper (Sail) qualification please.
Cheers,
Andy Gray
Not set in stone however, AFAIK. I have been told that if they are the "right kind of miles" those accumulated in my Hurley 22 (6.7m) would be acceptable and even that I might be allowed to do a YM in her, always supposing I could find an examiner prepared to put to sea in a luxuryless pocket cruiser. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
My instructor was happy to accept a couple of years poodling around in a 19 footer combined with Comp Crew and Day Skipper on school boats as satisfactory.
Makes sense to me - you probably ought to do the Coastal Skipper BEFORE you go coastal sailing in a logical world.
