hello all

Was wondering if anyone uses Milwaukee cordless tools?

Are the newer Lithium ion tools compatable with the older generation NiCad batteries?

(I suspect you can use NiCad batteries in Lith-ion tools but not the other way round).

I can't find a definitive answer online, but was wondering if anyone knowns whether the Milwaukee battery technologies are physically interchangable?

Failing that, anyone care to recommend a hard working & durable 4.5" cordless grinder?
(NiCad preferably).

thanks in advance

I have a Milwaukee Pipe cutter and a power ratchet, they use the new "red" batteries and are not backward compatible, for something as power hungry as a grinder NiCads don't cut it, my 18v Ryobi grinder was consigned to the tool locker until I got some NiMh one batteries for it and now it is much more usable, mostly with SS parting disks, a really nice tool now it has the right batteries and good value for money.
