Milos - Kleftiko rocks

Do any of you know if the kleftiko rocks area on the south side of Milos is suitable for overnight anchorage. If so, how about if the Meltemi is blowing? I have a good anchor and lots of chain.

I guess you mean the SW corner of Milos. Lots of delightful spots to anchor, but there are 2 or 3 isolated rocks to avoid, easily seen in daylight. Usually fine in the meltemi, though if there's a bit of west in it, some refracted swell may make it a bit rolly.

I mapped out the area. To see the map, go to http://www.jimbsail.info/mediterranean/greece/cyclades , scroll down to the "Milos" entry, and click on the "SW corner of Milos - map" link. Errm . . . I'm not sure, you may have to be logged in to the site to see that link . . .

There are some very spectacular anchorages around there. The rock arches are intriguing.

I have anchored there for up to a week at a time, but it is only suitable for mild or moderate northerly winds. There is some swell that creeps around, but that should not bother Palarran.

Excellent - Thanks Noelex.

If you see me this summer be sure to say hello. We will be working our way through the Cyclades West to East and end up in Marmaris. I'm spending a full week in Naousa which is the longest amount of time I've EVER spent in one location :) Kiteboarding and diving should keep me and my daughter busy. My old first mate (son) got a real job and can't make it this year. I hope my daughter can develop Seaworthy Lass's skills quickly.
