Dettol will kill mildew but wont change the colour, bleach then whitens it. However if is it ingrained that may not work.
Mildew Cleaning. I have tried most things. Please help

I know that I am repeating myself but there is no magical chemical treatment that will restore this surface:
What you have there is crazing that needs to be rubbed down well before starting with a filler/primer. If those cracks, minute as they may be, are not removed totally I would guarantee that any coating that is applied over them will, sooner rather than later, flake off.
I am sorry but that is the real situation. Fortunately it is a situation that is well within average DIY skills plus a good dose of patience so that proper attention to detail is not lacking. You'll be very pleased with your work once it is done and you're enjoying a well-earned pint of whatever you like to drink!

Hello I have just recommended this stuff to another on this forum, try 'Bar Keepers Friend' it was introduced to me last year and I have found it relatively cheap, under£7.00. It removed pollen and rust stains from my 32 year old boat so should be ok for you. Once the job is done, wash down and then put on the right gelcoat Polish. Cheers, kevin

Bar Keepers Friend is basically just oxalic acid in an abrasive powder base. However, the important point is that, unless the surface is corrected, th OP's problem won't go away.

The best mould and mildew remover I have seen is astonish might not work for you but it is great stuff and at £1 from asda you can't go wrong

Astonish is a brand name which encompasses a wide range of domestic cleaning products .
The Mould and Mildew Remover is another chlorine bleach based product.

As an aside, a couple of months ago, I bought 3 bottles of Bar Keepers Friend at Poundland, for yes, one pound each. They are small bottles but can confirm that they contain Oxalic Acid.
Just found a bottle . They are 150g bottles with Citric Acid Mono Hydrate, Oxalic Acid 5-15%,non-ionic Surfactant, Perfume.
Would be grateful if Vic could tell us if this product contains enough Oxalic Acid for yellow stains, rust etc.
p.s. I have only found Oxalic Acid only works for me on yellow stains waterline and rust. Have tried it on black exhaust, mildew etc with zero results.
