Mikuni/Webasto/Eberspacher installer near Nottingham?

Hi Paul

The boat is at Beeston Marina. A Dutch Steel Cruiser. 37ft x 11ft:

I think we just need a c. 3kw heater, but I could probably benefit from advice. We're looking at blown air heating.

Thanks

We have a 37ft fibreglass and have an Eberspacher D4 installed. It provides just about the right amount of heat (4 outlets). If it's left on 'full' the boat gets too hot (perfect for the winter!)

If you want to make sure it is right and you get the full 3 year warranty for Webasto go to PB auto electrics in Mansfield, boats like yours lend themselves well to wet systems so you may wish to consider that as well as the blown air option, much quieter and you get hot water off grid without running the engine.

Mikuni may not suit depending on the number of outlets if you decide on blown air as they no longer offer the wet system and their offering for blown air is now limited to a single 3.5kw heater which is marginal.

n.b. you have a lot of window area there so make sure who ever does it allows for that in the calcs.

David - thanks very much for that detailed answer. I'd heard of PBI auto electrics, but I sort of assumed they didn't do boats! I'll give them a call. Good point about all the windows.
