Midlands Newbie sailing 18ft microcupper inland lake.

I'm also a newbie, so new I've only just registered for this forum. I have recently enquired about keeping my Sinbad at Rutland Water and I was told it's electrics only even though their own rescue/instructor ribs have petrol outboards, and there's a trip boat.

I had my Dehler 22 on Rutland water for five years. Only once did I get becalmed to the point where it took two hours to cover 1/4 mile. No engine is necessary and you learn to be a better sailor. If all else fails you drop the sails drop the hook and go for a snooze. Rutland Water is good and a decent size though you need to stay away from the racing, which is no problem usually.
