Has anyone found a source that will replace the microswitch that is within the lewmar deck switch

The little code number is 19N816PK. I tried Google without success

Thanks

Oh come on - get real!
Why mess around with the microswitch when the complete foot switch costs less that £20.

I wish it was that simple. I have quite an old switch which is wider than current SX switch switch.jpg and deeper underneath and I really don't want to drill out a hole through the gelcoat. . In addition, but not the major consideration is the SX costs £45 plus P+P. But thanks for trying to help!

Perhaps the microswtch in the ones I suggest will fit your existing switch assembly but even then the saving isn't enormous. Sometimes we have to "bite the bullet" and fork out for the rarity of older equipment. I'm usually thankful spares are still available even at a premium cost. But I hope you find a replacement microswitch anyway.

WARNING

I have a Lofrans Tigres. After replacing the Lofrans foot switches every 12 months or so I switched to some Quick foot switches which use microswitches. They lasted longer than the Lofrans switches but both failed closed. This meant that the windlass kept running up once down once. Fortunately in both occasions I was able to get to the breaker before any damage was done.

I will not use foot switches with microswitches again.

At least with microswitches you can go for a known make, get a suitable current rating, IP rating etc.
Quite often when something breaks, it's good to go for uprated parts which won't predictably fail in the same way.

If the problem is contact burning/arcing/welding then some protection could be added?

Nope the problem is they live on the foredeck in a damp salty environment and spend some of their time under water as we beat up the islands. The innards turn to blue green goo.

This despite my best efforts to seal the damn things.

Foot switches are the spawn of the devil. Best to have a wireless remote which you can operate from anywhere.

TudorSailot, the switch that was linked above at around £20, is 78mm diameter, so much bigger in footprint than the SX switch.

It is designed as a modern replacement for Lewmar's older windlass foot-switches so I'd be surprised (unless you're talking many decades old equipment) if it wouldn't fit where your old, failed, deckswitch sits.

The "SX" deckswitch is smaller at 60mm diameter, and more designed for winch (as in sheet winch) control.

This page of catalogue probably helpful for you : http://www.lewmar.com/Catalogue/GB-Pages/Catalogue Edition 14 LR.35.pdf

You've got to spend a few hours, or much more or less depending on luck browsing the spec sheets you find in RS or Farnell. I do too much of that, no, an insane amount of that. Please post the ref no for those that go after you and thanks for investing your time.

As well as the one I posted yesterday this might appeal to you

I tried Google too. Took a few minutes only. C'mon Tudorsailor:

I'm pretty sure it's the 19N series. There are others that may swap for it such as the one in the previous post.

Edited: I see you got to the same place in the end. I hope it works out for you.

I would be very surprised if itw would supply you a switch, they would normally supply via wholesalers and equipment manufactures.

I would just update or go the wireless route, we fitted wireless to ours for £5
