I am ging to AF this year with micron extra, last time i used up an old tin of tiger. It stayed in place and performed ok.. but not great. I have now got it smooth and have abrided the surface... will the micron go straight on or will it not adhere? will i need to prime? Also i am raising the boot line by 2 inmches aft... will the virgin gel need primer?

thanks as ever

The Micron Extra over Tiger will be fine.

I would not use Primocon or Blakes Underwater Primer when raising the boot line in case it's not right yet. As it's largely above the waterline it should stay on.

Primer's are not that easy to get off .

Suggest complete coating of Primocon first then Micron Extra with additional coats at water line if possible.
Just had two years 'IN' with last coating of same.

[/ QUOTE ] Why? According to International not necessary on top of Tiger for Micron Extra!

I agree, Vic. All Primocon will do is make it more difficult to strip the paint off the hull at some time in the future.
