Is it supposed to be so thick your stirring stick will stand upright unassisted in it? Do you apply it this thick, or are you supposed to thin it first?

Hi Jimmy, don't remember it being that thick, depends on your stirring stick of course. Definitely applied neat. Just a thought, have you checked the sale by date?

Thanks M. I don't know what the expiration date of it is, I'll ask the guy who's doing the job.

Doesn't sound right to me. When they apply Micron 77 to my boat I'm always asked if I want the application to be by roller or spray (spray costs more and takes longer but apparently produces double the paint thickness with one less coat). It is applied neat and in the can looks more like a liquid than a gel.

Just tying this one off: the paint is well within date (expires May 2020); in fact the chap doing this work queried this with his supplier, who in turn referred it to International Paints. The answer from them is that it needs to be thinned, slightly. Thanks to all for the replies.
