Sorry for reviving an old thread, but I'd also like to contact Mike Spring and have drawn a complete blank.
Mike's trip to the Azores seems to have generated a good bit of media interest at the time. He was sponsored by 3M, and undertook the trip in support of the Pain Relief Foundation.
If anyone has any news of Mike, can you please post a reply or PM Colin & me if you prefer.

I know someone who was in contact with him a while (a year or so) ago, but lost contact.
