You should be able to drop the head lining, which in most cases is fixed to an internal board or panel, and has an air gap between the head lining and the coachroof above. It seems every yard has there own way of fixing the lining in place. I would suggest you go back to the builder or to MG and ask how the head lining is fixed. If they cannot be contacted ask round the local firms that do boat upholstery, one of them may know and they are usually willing to share this inforamation.

If this fails the are two possible ways in

If you take the trim off round the main hatch this might show you a way in.

In the area of the switchpanel you may have some wooden fairings concealing wiring runs. If these can be removed it may show you the way.

If you have overhead rails in the cabin and grab rails on deck these may be bolted through(Marine Products who make Moody's do it this way,) so leave those panels alone if you can

A word of warning, some of the panels may be quite large so it is likely to be a two man job to get them down.

Good luck

I owned a Spring for 6 years an could'nt find a way of doing it - the internal moulding is integral and continuous. The only approach is to drill a large hole through the inner lining, fix on your fitting, and cover the hole with marine ply, or whatever.
By the way, the deck moulding isn't overly thick - think about reinforcement.
