My metered shorepower lead is passing current but the numbers have stopped moving. While this may be good in the short term :D, I am sure the marine will get suspicious very quickly.

What could be wrong with it? As it's a sealed unit I am guessing it's got to be thrown away but thought I'd check here first in case anyone can suggest a fix.

Thanks

I seem to have to buy a new one every two years or so. Looking at all the 'new' looking leads on our pontoon, it seems that they have a very short life span.

I have the same problem. Did you ever find a fix?

I made the mistake of buying a used Rolec one from a guy on the Solent Sailing Facebook group for £80. It was stuck from day one, which, as you say was initially great but not long term for honesty with the marina. It had only registered 167 units in total. He blocked me when I asked for a refund.

I decided to build my own, total parts cost £45.

Meter module £13.95 - Din Rail KWH Energy Meter 5 (32) Amp 240v Electric Credit Analogue *UK Seller* | eBay
MK Commando 16A male connector £5.70 - 240v 16 Amp 3 Pin MK Commando Plug - Blue - IP44 | MK (K9001BLU)
MK Commando 16A female connector £8.60 - 240v 16 Amp 3 Pin MK Commando Coupler - Blue - IP44 | MK (K9101BLU)
Wiska Weatherproof Enclosure £15.48 - 3 Way Weathertight Enclosure IP65 c/w Din Rail | Wiska (1303/W)
2x 20mm glands £1.18 - 20mm Nylon Compression Gland White for Cable 6-12mm² - LSF

Cable I had in stock as I had already made up two custom length shore lines so minimise coils of wire when moored at base but it was this cable I used - 2.5mm² 3 Core Arctic Flex Blue - Cut to length

I'd seen other "home made" ones on the pontoons at various MDL marinas so was ready for a discussion when they came to check readings but they weren't in the slightest bit bothered.
