Met Office: current synoptic chart?

... So I'm back to the idea of making a compact device which will show:
[1] Current absolute pressure with barograph display
[2] Current pressure with trend display and alarm ...

Further to the above, I've now built a rudimentary device which shows just current temperature and pressure. It took me a while to debug the code, so I'd like to check that the pressure reading is accurate (currently 1017.7hPa in Cranbrook, Kent).

Is there a Met Office or other site that gives a current synoptic chart? Note that I've looked on unofficial sites such as http://aprs.fi but too much variation.

I guess I would need to adjust for sea level, so I'll check my elevation ... [Edit] 114m

In the days of the BBC serving the interests of grown-ups, we used to get this information four times a day on the weather forecast. If you are in the Jersey area, Jersey Radio give readings over a wide area in their regular reports.
