The Official news blog seems to have been pretty active recently - or I have been unaware of it. There have been several pages recently on specific weather aspects. As you would expect, one page is about the jet stream. Others have been about space weather and the Northern lights. They are not overly technical and some may find the not informative enough. Others might find them interesting. You can subscribe and just retain those that you find informative. On balance, a useful service.

Meteogroup has always depended on all national weather services worldwide. Essentially they were presenters although, no doubt, added some interpretation of forecasters. It has long been obvious that presenters on the BBC were adding little real value.
