Had a message from a friend of mine, “are you out today”
With eldest son and daughter in law onboard, planning a sight seeing trip to the needles.
Got to meet a mate first at West Ryde Middle first, oh what boat is he on?.....mumbles
Mate turns up to squeals of delight, can we practice a winch down, of course.

First photo taken by press boat for Cowes week, second by Victoria in a boat shadowing us

Videos to follow when I get a faster internet

Had that happen with a new Turbo 36 that many years ago.
The winch man hung a board out the door with 16 written on it,Owner of the boat thought it meant 16 knots and was going to be nicked

I was delivering a Fairline to Poole about 20 years ago when the old India Juliet coastguard chopper called me up and requested to winch down onto the boat for exercise. My crew got the experience of being winched up into the chopper and returned safely. I was quite jealous of his experience but never the less it was quite exciting !
