Messolonghi - about time!!

Hello,

I Would like to share my experience with the Marina in Messolonghi. The boat isn't safe there when you leave it for the winter time. My fuel was stolen and the tank was filled with water.
To repair all the damage of this you have to go the an expensive maintenance center of the marina. Never I will leave again my boat for the winter in this marina.

Hi Hanse,

Please don't think I am questioning you, but if I was going to steal a load of fuel, why would I take the time and chance of being seen and caught replacing it with water?........Is something else going on?
 
Any idea where to get fuel in Messolongi? I'll be staying in marina.
And is there a fruit and vegetable market ?

We were there a couple of weeks ago and asked the office re fuel, we only wanted about 50l so they were reluctant but in the end a mini tanker came (guess they couldn't tie it in with anyone else), it was expensive at €1.49 per lt but then we were told the marina put a 15% surcharge on it. Saw no evidence of a fruit and veg market, there was a small (and dark) Carrefour in town but far better was the new AB supermarket on the outskirts, just along from the large Carrefour. A fair walk there but a taxi back to the marina with loads of liquids etc only cost €4.
